Esha Kalra
Senior Program Associate

Esha has worked in the area of ‘’Quality of Care’’ in family planning and maternal & child health domains and has been associated with organizations such as National Institute of Health and Family Welfare and Population Foundation of India. Her experience includes providing services as a physical therapist. As a Program Associate at IRH, she manages the mHealth initiative, and supports program activities which involve coordination with state offices and other development partners. She also works closely with the Country Representative in reporting functions to donors and partner relations. Esha holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur.

 
Kamiya Srivastava 
Program Associate

Having joined IRH in the capacity of Program Associate in Ranchi in 2009, Kamiya supported the Jharkhand program in its scale up activities and research and oversaw other administrative duties. Working very closely with the Government of Jharkhand, her experience with the Jharkhand program gave her an opportunity to hone her advocacy and liaising skills. Currently Program Associate at the Delhi office, Kamiya supports the Uttar Pradesh program with a focus on training and research, in addition to other program related activities. Kamiya holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Jharkhand. Kamiya`s dissertation on `Social Cultural and Traditional Practices Related to Menstruation among Adolescent Girls in Ranchi` won a scholarship to the Youth Conference in Beijing in 2009.

 
Priya Jha
Country Representative

Priya has over 15 years of experience, with more than 12 years in family planning and reproductive health programs. She has worked with UNFPA and the Government of India`s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the design and implementation of public-private partnerships models in health service delivery. In addition, she has worked with leading national and international organizations including WHO, Marie Stopes International and PLAN International India affiliates and CEDPA. As Country Representative at IRH, Priya provides overall technical guidance, management functions and oversight to the Institute’s activities including the FAM project in India. Her various responsibilities include supporting research and service delivery activities, advocacy with the Government and stakeholders, partnering with other organizations and private sector on family planning including fertility awareness- based methods and managing donor relations. Her core competency lies in strategic planning, program design and scale up of innovative strategies. Priya has a Master`s in Social Work from the Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi.

 
Pankaj Sharma
Manager - Program Support
 
Pankaj has more than 6 years of experience as a public health professional with governmental agencies, national and international NGOs, funding agencies and the private sector in the United Kingdom, India, Bangladesh and Nepal. His expertise include program & partnerships management, budgeting & project financing, business development, technical support, organizational development, staffing (selection, recruitment, training and mentoring), project monitoring & evaluation, research (qualitative, quantitative & mixed methods), and documenting reports & proposals. As the Program Manager, Pankaj manages state offices in UP and Jharkhand as well as partner organizations. He also oversees strategic planning and implementation of the program and is responsible for supporting the Country Representative in strategizing scaling up of the FAM Project, proposal writing and other advocacy efforts. Pankaj holds a MSc in Health Sciences (Management) from Northumbria University, United Kingdom in addition to a MPH and a MBA.

 

Remya Sasindran
Communications Officer

Remya has about 6 years of experience writing for e-learning courses, websites, and soft-skills training curricula having started her career as a freelance writer. Her initiation to the development sector started after her assignment as a consultant with UNICEF India where she researched and documented stories from the field for the entertainment-education TV program Kyunki…Jeena Issi Ka Naam Hai. Prior to joining IRH, she was associated with Pathfinder International as a Communications Officer. At IRH, Remya is responsible for the development and updating of the IRH/India website, coordination of all print material produced by IRH/India and management of all other media/communications related components. She also coordinates developement  of all advocacy material in addition to being the point person for IRH’s direct-to-consumer initiatives. Remya has a Master’s in Media Communications from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

 
Sonia Panja
Operations Manager, Delhi
Sonia has more than 15 years of experience in office administration, operations and finance. She has worked with leading corporate and international development organizations, including UNDP and the Futures Group International. As an Operations Manager at IRH, Sonia is responsible for providing operations, finance and administrative functions to IRH/India towards the achievement of organizational objectives. Sonia also coordinates with IRH/Washington on finance and operational issues and oversees all audit and taxation matters within the India office. Sonia is a Commerce Graduate from Delhi University with higher degree in Office Management and Administration from New Delhi YMCA.

Ajoy Kumar
District Coordinator – Dumka

With work experience in Jharkhand from 2007 onward, Ajoy Kumar has extensive skills in facilitation, conducting training, documentation, program management and financial management. Ajay has been a part of Intrahealth International`s Vistaar Project, Srijan Foundation and Badlao Foundation. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Ajoy`s many responsibilities include conducting training and mentoring trainers and disseminating results and lessons learned to Government and partners at the district level. Ajay has an undergraduate degree in Zoology (Hons) and a MA in Rural Development.

 
Anurag Gunjan
District Coordinator – Deoghar

Anurag has more than 10 years of experience in both the social and private sectors. Anurag`s experience ranges from work with Janani to organizations such as ICICI Bank, Gama Abacus and Dreamzopoe Marketing. As a District Coordinator at IRH, he is responsible for providing technical assistance on inclusion and scaling up of the fertility awareness-based methods of family planning and overall implementation of the FAM Project in Deoghar district. Anurag holds Sociology (Hons) degree from Patna University.

 
Ashit Kumar
District Coordinator, Ramgarh

Ashit has more than 5 years of experience in education and health programs, and has been associated with the A2Z Project in Jharkhand, where he provided technical assistance to reproductive health programs and micronutrient intervention for children. As a District Coordinator at IRH, he is responsible for program implementation and technical support to the District Health Services for integrating and scaling up the fertility awareness-based methods of family planning into regular program at the district level. Ashit has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development.

 
Gaurav Jaiswal
District Coordinator – Godda

Gaurav has over 3 years of experience in the rural development sector and has previously worked with organizations such as Citizens Foundation, JTDP and CAHPOR. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Gaurav is responsible for implementing the FAM project in Godda district and works closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Gaurav has a Post Graduation in Rural Development from Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi.

 
Manish Kumar
District Coordinator, Sahibganj

Manish has 6 years of experience in the development sector during which he has worked with projects on women’s empowerment, HIV/AIDS, water-sanitation and family planning. As a District Coordinator at IRH, his key responsibilities include providing technical assistance to Government of Jharkhand for the inclusion of SDM and LAM in the public sector family planning program, while strengthening the same for quality service delivery. Manish has a Master’s in Rural Studies and Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management.

 
Nalin Nath Tiwary
District Coordinator, Khunti

Nalin has more than 7 years of experience in program implementation, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS, family counseling and disability.  He has been associated with National AIDS Control Organization and Central Social Welfare Board and has strong skills in community mobilization, training, and Government and NGO coordination. As a District Coordinator at IRH, his key responsibilities include facilitating Contraceptive Technology Update training at the district level and providing technical assistance to district and civil society organizations on all family planning related activities. Nalin has a Bachelor’s in Law and a Master’s in Psychology.

 
Praveer Peter
District Coordinator, Pakur

With about 13 years of work experience in the social sector, Praveer has been associated with organizations such as UNICEF Ranchi, Swaraj Foundation, Centre for Communication and Development Studies, Catholic Health Association of India and others. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Praveer focuses on conducting training and mentoring trainers; and disseminating results and lessons learned to Government and partners at the district level as part of the FAM project. Praveer has a BA in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi and a MA in Sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi.

 
Rajesh Kumar Sharma
District Coordinator, Chatra

With more than 6 years of experience in the development sector, Rajesh started his career with WHO’s National Polio Surveillance Project where he worked on quality improvement. He also has experience in implementing education-based programs at the elementary level in the state of Jharkhand. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Rajesh advocates for the inclusion of fertility awareness-based methods of family planning into the Government system at the district level. Rajesh has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from Indira Gandhi National Open University and Bachelor’s in History from Ranchi University.

 
Rahul Shekhar
District Coordinator, Hazaribagh

Rahul brings with him experience from the private as well as social sector. From his time at ING Vysya Bank and WHO`s NPSP Unit in Gumla district of Jharkhand, he has gained experience in training, planning and documentation for field activities. As a District Coordinator at IRH, he is responsible for coordination and implementation of the FAM project, and providing technical support to the district level health service delivery mechanisms and service providers. Rahul has a B.Com from Ranchi University and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Jharkhand.

 
Rashmi Misra
Program Associate, Ranchi

Rashmi has more than 8 years of experience in project implementation, counseling, training, capacity building and office administration particularly in the area of reproductive and child health, HIV/AIDS, RTI/STI and other development projects. As Program Associate, Rashmi is responsible for coordinating program implementation and providing technical support and guidance to District Coordinators in addition to working closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for incorporation of fertility awareness-based methods of family planning into state programs. Rashmi has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from IGNOU and is currently pursuing a MBA in Hospital Management from Vinayaka Mission University.

 
Sanjay Kumar 
District Coordinator, Koderma

Sanjay has been associated with the development sector for the past 5 years working with grass-root level workers, other line functionaries in the Government and voluntary organizations. His work experience includes development and implementation of project and behavior change communication, governance, and training of trainers in programs for capacity building of adolescent, youth, and women on various health issues. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Sanjay is responsible for program implementation and technical support to district health services and service providers. He also works closely with a range of stakeholders at the district level. Sanjay has a Master’s in Rural Development.

 
Sanjay Singh
District Coordinator, Jamtara

Sanjay has been working the development sector for more than 10 years and has been associated with the Academy for Educational Development, the A2Z Project and others. As a District Coordinator at IRH, Sanjay provides technical assistance to the Department of Health, Integrated Child Development Services, NGOs and civil Society organizations at the district level for the integration of SDM and LAM into the Government system. Sanjay has a Bachelor’s in Education with a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development.

 
Saurav Tiwari  
Senior District Coordinator, Gumla

Saurav has more than 8 years of experience in program implementation, particularly in the areas of reproductive health, family planning, routine immunization, education and Polio eradication. He has strong skills in community mobilization, training and Government/NGO liaisons and has worked with WHO-NPSP and Jharkhand Education Project. As a District Coordinator at IRH, his main responsibilities include integrating the fertility awareness- based methods of family planning at the district level through capacity building, IEC/BCC activities and advocacy. Saurav holds a Master’s in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, and a Master’s in Rural Development.

 
Vikas Choudhary
Program Associate, Ranchi

Vikas has over 4 years of experience in the field of public health and has handled projects for Oxfam Trust India, Usha Martin and other organizations. With experience in funding and management, Vikas`s strengths lie in monitoring and evaluation, research, training, and program management. As a Program Associate, he provides technical support to the Jharkhand program by ensuring timely and quality reporting of monitoring data and program reports; conducting data analysis; coordinating project activities and providing timely feedback to the district, state and country offices. Vikas has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi and a Bachelor`s degree in Commerce from Ranchi University.

 
Vishal Raj 
State Program Officer, Jharkhand

Vishal has more than five years of experience as a development professional. During his time in Janani he significantly contributed to the Family Planning and Abortion Care service delivery in a PPP model (under the National Rural Health Mission). His key skills include liaising with government health functionaries, clinical administration of family planning centers, social marketing of family planning products, strategizing and systemizing the franchise networks and team building by virtue of working with a diverse team. As a State Program Officer at IRH, Vishal is responsible for project planning and implementation, providing supportive supervision to the IRH state team, as well as advocating for integration of FAM. Vishal has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi.
